Mining engineers have a wide variety of career options including mine planning and design, consultants for tunneling operations (for road, rail, hydroelectric operations, sewage or water supply works), operations managers, technical specialists (eg rock mechanics and drilling blasting or mine machinery as well as ventilation operations), researchers, or managers of mines.
